CARNEGIE HALL PRESENTS

Cancelled: Carnegie Hall Citywide: Tabou Combo

Thursday, May 28, 2020 6:30 PM The Plaza at 300 Ashland
Tabou Combo
Tabou Combo has been spreading the joys of compas—Haiti’s national music—globally for more than 50 years. Singing in English, Spanish, French, and their native Creole, the group’s high-energy performances are invigorating mixes of merengue dance music from the Dominican Republic, Haitian voodoo traditions, splashes of French colonial styles, and American funk. Layers of percussion, intertwining guitar lines, and brass give the music a unique color and a vitality that inspires audiences to get up and dance.
